Preemie Baby Post Stitch Sweater{Lyn's Designs}*this is a Preemie size, approx.2-3 lbs* Materials:
Baby Sport Pompadour Yarn (approx. 2 oz)
F hook
Satin ribbon
Ch 35, hdc in 2nd ch from hook, and each st across. ch 2, turn.
row 1: (bodice) for Neck
1 hdc in next 5 sts, 3 hdc in next st (corner made)
1 hdc in next 6 sts, 3 hdc in next st (corner made)
1 hdc in next 10 sts, 3 hdc in next st (corner made)
1 hdc in next 6 sts, 3 hdc in next st (corner made)
1 hdc in next 6 sts to end. ch 2, turn.
row 2-4:
* 1 hdc in each st around, putting 3 hdc in center st of each
corner. ch 2, turn.
row 5: (making armholes)
1 hdc in each st across to first corner,hdc in center st of 1st corner,
ch 6, skip sts in between to 2nd corner,1 hdc in center st of 2nd corner,
1 hdc across to 3rd corner, ch 6, skip sts in between to 4th corner,1
hdc in center st of 4th corner, and then 1 hdc across to end. ch 2, turn.
row 6: 1 hdc in each st around, including ch sts under arm. ch 3, turn.
row 7: (pattern Row)
1 dc in same sp as turning ch. * sk 2 sts, 1 dc in next st, sk 2 sts, 5
dc in next st (shell made). ending with 2 dc in last st. ch 3, turn.
row 8: 1 dc in same sp, *1 dc back post st in next dc, shell in top of
next shell, repeat * around to end. ch 3, turn.
row 9: 1 dc in same sp, *1 dc front post in nenxt dc, shell in top of
next shell, repeat * around. ch 3, turn.
*** repeat rows 8 & 9 for 4 more rows. making sure 1 row is front
post, and 1 row is back post, so that the raised stitches are all on one
side.
TRIM:
turn sweater so that front post stitches are on the outside of the
sweater.
then 1 hdc in each st across bottom, ch 1, sc in same sp and sc
up front, around neck, and down front other side , ending with sl
st in starting hdc.
use thin ribbon and weave thru neck, tie in bow.
SLEEVES:
row 1: attach yarn under arm in center, 2 dc in same sp, *sk 2 sts,
1 dc in next st , sk 2 sts, 5 dc in next st (shell), * repeat ending with
3 dc in beg of first half shell (this completes the shell). join.
row 2: ch 3, 2 dc in same sp, * 1 dc front post st in next dc, 1 shell
in center of next shell, * around. join.
~~ repeat row 2 for 2 more rows working in rounds and keeping the
front post sts on the outside ( having 4 rows total).
for sleeve cuffs;
row 5: ch 2, 1 hdc in ea st around. join.
row 6: ch 2, * 1 hdc front post in next st, 1 hdc back post in next,
repeat * around, creating a ribbed effect. join.
~~ repeat for 4 more rows .... end off. weave in ends.

**Shell: 5 dc in same space is a shell.
front post : working a hdc around the front side of the st.
back post: working a hdc around the backside of the st.
