Needle: US 8 for a size 20 x 20 (firmer fabric)
use a 9 or 10 (and drop 10 stitches (73) on the CO) for a 18 x 18 (looser fabric)

CO 83 Stitches

Knit 6 rows
K4 - K5, P5 across to last 4 stitches - K4
K4 - P5, K5 across to last 4 stitches - K4

Do this pattern for 8 rows then ...

K4 - P5, K5 across to last 4 stitches - K4
K4 - K5, P5 across to last 4 stitches - K4
Do this pattern for 8 rows then ...

Do these two combination rows until you've
completed 15 blocks down and 15 blocks across for
the 83 Stitch Cast On ... for the 73 Stitch CO
you'll have 13 blocks down and 13 blocks across ...

Knit 6 Rows ... Bind Off

Crochet
Edging: 3 hdc, skip one, sl st, skip 1, 3 hdc ... around ...
don't worry about the corners ... it will all fit in nicely ...
This is a worry free blankie ... simple, mindless ...

Finish: Weave all tails into the fabric ... carefully!
