Tiny Preemie Cap
This is a smaller variation of the simple preemie cap

{fits a 10" to 11" preemie head}
Materials:
F Hook
Baby Sport Yarn 1 oz.
your choice of decoration

Ch 4, sl st to form a ring.
 
Rnd 1:   ch 2, 12 dc into the ring. sl st to join.
Rnd 2:  ch 2, 2 dc in ea st around. sl st to join.
Rnd 3:  ch 2, 1 dc in same sp, * 1 dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc 
in next st, repeat from * around, sl st to join. 
Rnds 4-9:   ch 2, 1 dc in ea st around. sl st to join.
 
Rnd 10:  ch 2, 1 dc front post st in ea st around. sl st 
to join.   {this round color can be changed to give a 
contrasting color of the brim}
 
BRIM:
Rnd 11: turn now, and work other direction, ch 2, 1 dc 
in ea st around,. sl st to join.
Rnd 12: working same direction, ch 2, 1 dc in ea st 
around. sl st to join.
 
RUFFLE:
Rnd 13:  Ch 3, sc in next st, * ch 3, sc in next st, —
repeat from * to the end. sl st to join.   end off. weave in 
ends.
*Optional* — sew on decorative bow, ribbon or applique.

SHELL Brim:


Rnd 11: ch 2, 1 dc in ea st around. sl st to join.
Rnd 12: ch 1, 1 sc  in same sp, * sk 2 sts, 5 dc in next st,
sk 2 sts, 1 sc in next st, sk 2 sts,  —  repeat 
from * around, end with sl st into 1st sc to join. end off.
Rnd 13:   Omit.

PICOT brim:


Rnd 11-12:   ch 2, 1 dc in ea st around. sl st to join.
Rnd 13:  ch 1, sc in same sp, — * sc in next st, ch 2 & sc 
into same sp, sc in next st, sc in next st, ch-2 & sc into same
sp,  — repeat from * around.. sl st to join.   end off.

 
** NOTE** —  you can alternate colors , changing color on 
row 9 will put a different color on the edge of caop before 
the brim is folded. 
rnd 10 starts the brim, so change colors here if you want 
the brim a different color from cap.
